Your First Visit

Your First Visit is complimentary !!

Our objective is to make sure your visits with us will be as pleasant and informative as possible . At Your initial complementary visit with us your treatment coordinator will give you a brief tour of our office. If needed a panoramic x-ray will be accomplished for you along with digital photographs. With this information, Dr. Erickson will do detailed clinical examination and discuss your potential treatment options. This important visit will address the orthodontic needs of you or your child.

Please assist us at this important visit by providing the following information at the time of your first visit:

• Any x-rays that your dentist may have taken in the past year
  
• Any referral information from your dentist
  
• Completed online or printed patient information forms.
  
• Please bring any information you have about your insurance. Our knowledgeable and helpful team will assist you in understanding your benefits, and if appropriate coordinate a payment plan that will work for you.
  

If Dr. Erickson determines that treatment is indicated for you, we will need some further information. These diagnostic records usually consist of models of your teeth, and an orthodontic x-ray. Once these orthodontic records have been obtained, Dr. Erickson will study them and determine a specific treatment plan for your individual orthodontic needs.

Successive Visits

Your next visit will be to have your custom appliances (braces and/or other devices) fitted for your teeth. The careful and accurate placement of your appliances is one of the most important things we do during your treatment! We will also spend a good amount of time orienting and teaching you about wear and care of your appliances. You are an important part of our team and the more you know the more you can help us make your smile of a lifetime. We also encourage parents to be at your appointments…. they are part of our team, too! We have designed our semi private treatment rooms so parents can comfortably observe and participate in their child’s treatment.

Your subsequent visits will be relatively short to have Dr. Erickson monitor your progress and adjust your braces. These appointments are at 6-10 week intervals, because we use state-of the-art materials and technology so that your treatment will progress comfortably at an optimum speed.

Dental Care

Your family dentist is an important part of our team, also! Before we start your orthodontic treatment your dentist will assure that your teeth and gums are as healthy as they can be. Dr. Erickson and his team will give you the tools and teach you how to keep your teeth and braces clean and coach you on this important part of your treatment at your regular visits. But it is also very important that your keep up your regular checkups and cleanings with your family dentist!!
